Experiencing the Smokies
I have taken time out of my weekly life to enjoy all that the world, my world, has to offer.
I have a new job now, situated right in the middle of downtown Gatlinburg. Having the opportunity to see just a small part of the national park multiple times a week is a blessing. The air always feels so fresh, the way the water flows downstream and the rustling of the trees really encapsulate the entire experience. The job I have is partnered with Anakeesta, a popular skylift that brings you up into the mountains. I am hoping that I can find the time to go at night as they have a new nighttime experience that is supposed to be other-worldly. We will see.
I am hoping to find a different job come June, a full-time job with the hope of being allowed 48-50 hours a week so that I may save up money to go to college. I have my eye on a college in Sevierville that has certification programs. I want to become a clinical medical assistant. I feel like being able to assist a physician and patients would be a rewarding job. The best part is that I wouldn't have to travel so far for work once I get the certification. After this, I hope to have the chance to work for a year or two while I work towards an associate's for surgical technology. Essentially, being a decently experienced youngin' in healthcare, I want it to be the best experience I can make it out to be. I only wish that the universe allows me to succeed in this little plan of mine and that it may be rewarding for me. I wish that the universe gives me this opportunity and that I may grow from it.
I do enjoy this state, at least the areas I have visited. But I do plan on moving back to Florida. There are just many things in the state government that do not sit well with me and I would rather be back in Florida where I was born. I also miss the beach very much. I want the experience the Florida experience again. Being able to wake up at 7 am on a day off and deciding to go to the beach. The hectic atmosphere of everyone getting ready. My favorite: last-minute leg shaving despite knowing the salt water will sting! I miss going to the grocery store the night before and grabbing sandwich meats and cheeses, grabbing a case of water, chips, and sodas. I miss making the sandwiches and packing them in the cooler all while everyone is seemingly running around like they've never gone to the beach before. The way sun shone down on us as we all jam-packed into the car, making sure we didn't forget anything. We always end up forgetting something and just have to accept the fact that we did so. I miss is very much, and I hope to be able to have the privilege to experience it again one day.
